Three Things in Hairstyle You Need to Know This Week

Some vintage hairstyles were back on the fashion scene this week. But, stylists made the hairstyles look futuristic rather than classic. The hairdos appeared more like from the future rather than a blast from the past.

Lupita Nyong’o’s hairstyle had made it to the news on its’ own. It exuded its own character from the red carpet, like it was a completely different persona from the Black Panther actress.

The real winners this week were the nerdy/dorky girls! It turned out that tucking the hair behind the ears, a nuance common among the nerds, is the most powerful beauty move of 2018.

Tucked-behind-the-ears

Tucking some flocks behind your ears and pairing it with big earrings seemed to be the most fashionable thing to do with that hair this season. As noted by The Guardian, Margot Robie did it at the Golden Globes; Emma Stone, Meghan Markle and Gigi Hadid had all been seen sporting the dorky nuance/trendy hairstyle during important events.

Tucked-behind-the-ears was also seen on models at a Versace and at a Valentino fashion show. Dolce & Gabbana on the other hand framed the simple hairdo with jeweled tiaras.

“The body language of tucking your hair behind your ears is quite English, I think. Princess Diana used to do it,” Tilly Macalister-Smith, a British fashion writer based in New York told The Guardian.

To pull off the tucked-behind-the-ears, remember to style up with a lipstick, a barrette or big earrings.

Also, invest on hairstyling tools that can make that hair more manageable. Dry it thoroughly so it’ll remain tucked for the whole day or for all night long. Asavea’s AC motor Ionic & Ceramic fast 1875W Hair dryer Pro has strong ionic generator and Ceramic-Tourmaline air outlet grill, which leaves the hair healthy, sleek, and smooth.

The Futuristic Barbarella/Bardot-inspire hairstyle

The Fall/Winter 2018 season saw the Barbarella/Bardot-inspired hair back to the nines. The term “Barbarella” came from the sci-fi character played by Jane Fonda in the 1968 film titled “Barbarella.” However, instead of the models looking like they were coming back from the 50’s and the 60’s, the effect were more like futuristic because of the hair colors.

Here’s the “Bardon-inspired meets Barbarella” hairstyle created by hairstylist Tina Outen at Philipp Plein:

Lupita’s hairstyle

Lupita walked the red carpet with loops of golden string on her hair. According to Vernon Francois, the embellishment is inspired by traditional Rwandan Amasunzu hairstyles.
